The Community Book Tree Sculpture is now permanently installed at the Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield, MA. This sculpture was funded through grants from the Marshfield Arts Council and the Friends of the Ventress Memorial Library. One hundred library patrons were invited to inscribe a clay leaf with their name and a favorite book title! The fired clay leaves surround a smiling tree woman to create a striking 6′ x 4′ wall relief sculpture. Stop by the VML and take a look!

Blanche Ames National Juried Show

My sculpture ARTEMIS has been accepted in the Blanche Ames National Juried Show, held at the Ames Mansion, Borderlands State Park in N.Easton, Massachusetts.

ARTEMIS explores the symbolic connection between a mythological persona and an animal. It is part of a new series of sculptures.

The clay sculptures are burnished and then pit-fired in a traditional firing process.

The exhibet will run from September 20 – October 8, 2016. The opening reception is Saturday September 24th from 7-10 pm.

Community Book Tree Sculpture

I am creating a clay mural sculpture at the Ventress Library in Marshfield, MA.  Residents are invited to participate in the process, by inscribing a clay leaf with the name of a favorite book. The leaves will become part of the Community Tree. The sculpture will be installed in the entrance area of the library. This project is supported by a grant from the Marshfield Arts Council and the Friends of the Ventress Library.

Sign up soon at the library if you’d like to take part in this community art project.
